Batwomen (and) -men

Here are some bat pictures I took during working the summer in an ecological institution! Nearly all bats are highly protected in Germany and the rest of the EU, so please, never ever try to catch one by yourself for photography purposes! And of course, don’t disturbe their habitats, pictures are not worth to extinct a whole species! And yes, disturbing those animals can lead to the death! We were trained to catch the bats for scientific purposes and allowed, if you aren’t, just leave them! The species we caught, marked and photographed: Common pipistrelle (Pipistrellus pipistrellus), Soprano pipistrelle (Pipistrellus pygmaeus), Barbastelle (Barbastella barbastellus), Daubenton’s bat (Myotis daubentonii), greater mous-ered bat (Myotis myotis), Common noctule (Nyctolus noctula)  and the Lesser noctule (Nyctalus leisleri).
